Innovative Housing Project

Housing
The six semi-detached homes that we designed in collaboration with Down to Earth Project for Coastal Housing Group are looking splendid in the winter sun. Part of a larger residential development in Pennard on the Gower Peninsula, all designs were produced with sustainability and affordability in mind.
The houses are built with natural, local materials, with all the timber in the build grown in Wales. They are very highly insulated with natural insulation and are “homes as power stations”, generating more electricity than they consume. The construction was carried out by diverse community groups, particularly those from "hard to reach" and disadvantaged backgrounds. By putting vulnerable communities at the very centre of building their own affordable/social housing, Down to Earth Project deliver clinically-valid health care as well as tackling poverty through the medium of building houses fit for the future.
We are proud to have played our part in this exciting and innovative housing project, which delivers the Welsh Future Generations Act with boldness & vision and demonstrates what is possible when we dare to dream and believe in a holistic way of delivering housing.
